It's finally happening, the Resident Evil film series is coming to an end, according to Ali Larter the actress who plays Claire Redfield in the series. The series began in 2002 with Mila Jovavich and had kept going until today with Larter who joined in the third installment in the series in 2007.
Now, we are looking at the sixth film in the series — the film that without a doubt will be the end. “I know it is,” said Larter when asked if this was truly the end of the series by IGN.
While the rest of us breathe a sigh of release at our beloved series escaping the claws of director W.S. Anderson (seriously, clones?), some of you might be wondering what the sixth installment could possibly be about. Well, like most films everyone working on the film knows, but they can't share any information on it.
“We are not allowed to say one thing,” she laughed. “I am held to secrecy, but what I can tell you is that the script is amazing. They're really wrapping up the whole series, so that just makes it a little more poignant. To be able to come back and reprise my role as Claire and my relationship with Alice, with Umbrella Corp. — you know, I'm excited to get back in it. I think the fans are just going to be beyond excited.”
Resident Evil 6, rather, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will begin the production process next month in South Africa and is set to release in January 27, 2017.
