Clash of Clans update sneak peek #5: Larger Village Map

Clash of Clans update to increase village size by 21%

After a short break to answer your questions regarding the sweeping set of changes coming to Clash of Clans, Supercell has begun the sneak peeks again.

Today, Supercell once again confirmed a bigger village area for the update, previously previewed at ClashCon. As a reminder, with the new update the village size will be bumped up from 40×40 to 44×44, a 21% increase in the square tilage layout.

So what will you be doing with this larger base? Well, aside from trying out new layouts, the only confirmed new building is a 4×4 tile defensive building. But with an increase in the map size, it's possible Supercell will reveal new buildings or perhaps allow you to build more of an already-existing structure.

Supercell also noted that only obstacles that are currently on the village border (on top of it or even toucing it) will be moved to the new border. All other obstacles, like those in the middle of your base, will go untouched and will remain where they are.

Of course, with the increased base size, you're going to need more time to fully destroy your enemy base. And good news, you'll get it. Supercell confirmed the update will increase the attack time by 30 seconds for both multiplayer and Clan Wars. Speaking of Clan Wars, War Preparation Day will be reduced to 23 hours, essentially allowing a clan to start a war at a consistent time every single war.

Supercell has even more planned to reveal for the update, but take a look at some of the already confirmed changes coming with the next Clash of Clans update:
