Clash of Clans update sneak peek: Skeleton Trap

Supercell has revealed what looks to be the final new "feature" in the upcoming Halloween update for Clash of Clans.

The Skeleton Trap is a new type of trap (available at Town Hall 8) that can be used to ambush and distract your enemies. The small group of Skeleton troops — which can be upgraded to deploy more skeletons at once — "may be short-lived," but they'll "certainly get some attention." I'm assuming this means they are used more to give your other defenses time to take out units. The Skeleton Trap can target air or ground troops, with the choice ultimately up to you.

In addition to the Skeleton Trap, the upcoming Halloween update will also add spooky elements to existing in-game features. For instance, the lightning spell will now have bats swirl around the strike, and trees will have faces and glowing eyes. There's also a Halloween Headstone that will provide gems once you remove it for 25,000 Elixir.

The update will also bring some quality of life improvements to Clans, including new clan settings and advanced search, making it easier to find a specific type of clan. Clans will also have a specific hashtag associated with them.

We don't have an exact date for the release of the Halloween update, but Supercell says it's coming "soon."
