Clash Royale gets March global launch window

Clash of Clans spin-off gets release window

Supercell Games has announced a March 2016 release window for their new mobile game, Clash Royale. It had previously been in a "soft launch" state in select countries.

Set in the same universe as Clash of Clans, Supercell looks to capitalize on the popularity of their hit mobile game by bringing together "the royal family with your favorite Clash of Clans troops" in the new real-time multiplayer game.

"Collect and upgrade dozens of cards featuring the Clash of Clans troops, spells and defenses you know and love, as well as the Royales: Princes, Knights, Baby Dragons and more. Knock the enemy King and Princesses from their towers to defeat your opponents and win Trophies, Crowns and glory in the Arena. Form a Clan to share cards and build your very own battle community."

Clash Royale is being developed independently of Clash of Clans, although several past members of the Clash of Clans team are founding members of Clash Royale. Supercell plans to keep the teams working separately, and the developer made it a point to emphasize that this is not Clash of Clans 2. "We will continue to develop Clash of Clans and Clash Royale as completely separate games, with two distinct teams!" Supercell has previously hinted that new Clash Royale characters could be part of Clash of Clans in the future, however.
