Launches First Web Video Player for Videogame Walkthroughs

World of Warcraft Game Fans Among Early
Adopters

San Francisco based web video technology company
CLICK.TV (www.click.tv),
officially launched the beta version of its initial product today, the Click.TV
Player. The Click.TV Player allows anyone who publishes video content on the web
to add running commentary, clickable bookmarks, share entire videos, or
highlight reels. It provides the audience with the ability to search and
directly jump to specific parts in the video. Aimed at bringing a truly
interactive experience to web video, the Click TV Player has ideal applications
for videogames, music videos, sports, online media outlets, politics and more.

Among the early Click.TV Player users is the
Working as Intended guild of World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. The players
have used the technology to create a game strategy walk-through for the Shadow
Labyrinth, an instance in Auchindoun.

"It was very useful," Kurt Fabing, the Working as
Intended guild leader said. "I love the comments that scrolled as you were
watching the video, explaining the fight as you are seeing it, also the ability
to hover over the screen watch any specific part of a fight you are having
difficulties with. I would really find something interactive like this useful in
raiding."

This first Click.TV Player gaming demonstration,
featuring World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade, is posted at
games.click.tv. Any gaming
Web site, blog, etc. is free to use this demo on their site.

“When it comes to web video, computer users want
to search, explore, share, highlight and comment on what they’re watching,” said
CLICK.TV CEO Mike Lanza. “We expect interest in this enhanced web video
experience to be particularly strong in the entertainment and media sectors.”

Applications for the Click.TV Player specific to
the game industry include annotated gameplay reviews, movie clip reviews,
gameplay demos, visual game manuals and the recent gaming craze machinima
movies, i.e. independent films created within the virtual reality of a
videogame. In addition potential new revenue streams could be created through
highly targeted advertising that links banners ads and direct response to
specific points in a video. Future applications might include making a large
body of gaming video content highly searchable within the videos themselves by
factors such as popularity or relevancy or optimizing annotated video content
for smaller handheld screens.
