Clone Drone in the Danger Zone makes robot limb hacking look like child’s play

Whenever I hop into a game of Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, I have to ignore the sudden itch to make a Kenny Loggins reference (thanks, Archer). Awesome naming conventions aside, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is an addictive little game about robot overlords who have placed human consciousnesses into the bodies of robot gladiators before putting them in an arena to fight to the death. The world itself looks like something out of Minecraft, but its charm manages to make it stand out.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is very simple to pick up and get the hang of. The initial rules are about as straightforward as they come; WASD to move, Space Bar to Jump, and Left Mouse Click to swing your sword. Kills can be performed with a well timed and aimed blow in one hit, and you can die just as quickly. The action plays similarly to the old Jedi Knight games on PC with its endless mode reminiscent of The Witcher 2's Arena mode. You face off against wave after wave of increasingly difficult enemies, and after each round, you get to unlock one more upgrade that can give you anything from the ability to kick enemies to a clone of yourself for an extra life.

The game also taken off with popular YouTubers such as jacksepticeye, MattShea, and Draegast. You can check out the game in action via the links.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is currently in Early Alpha, and you can check it out over on itch.io. Starting tomorrow, December 16th, the game will introduce an all-new feature called Twitch Mode, where viewers watching their favorite streamers will be able to become an in-game member of the crowd, with their unique emote appearing overhead. It's a cool feature that sounds like it can take Twitch integration to the next level.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone can be purchased for $10 but will continue to receive updates through the game's launch sometime next year. If you do decide to pick up the game now, you will get a Steam key when the game releases in full.
