The platformer Cloudberry Kingdom is now set to launch on "all major consoles," according to a Kickstarter update today.
Ubisoft is helping with marketing for the game, which has yet to receive a release date. New York-based developer Pwnee Studios is worried that "some people may perceive this as selling out, or giving up our indie status."
The studio wrote, "We looked at this opportunity long and hard before we decided that it was the best option. Really, after looking at everything — there was very little reason not to go ahead with it. We think it was far and away the best decision that could have been made for Cloudberry Kingdom [for] putting us in the best position to make a really great game available to as many people as possible."
The game successfully completed funding in May of last year. It's coming to Wii U, Steam for PC, Xbox Live Arcade, and PlayStation Network.
Cloudberry Kingdom was one of the first indie games to be announced for Wii U. It's Pwnee's first title.
