Developer Saber Interactive released a brand-new trailer for their upcoming multiplayer zombie action game World War Z. In the new trailer, we get a look at the different classes and their unique skills. We also learn that the game will be exclusively available on the new Epic Store on PC, alongside the PS4 and Xbox One. Check out the trailer!
The six classes showcased in the video offer a nice selection of characters with unique play-styles and should offer something for every taste.
It really looks like PC players are in for a new breed of platform wars usually experienced on consoles. For what seem the first time, Steam is getting serious competition as the premier digital storefront on computers.
World War Z, the long-discussed video game adaptation of 2006’s horror novel and 2013 Hollywood movie, is now confirmed to be an Epic Store exclusive on PC, with any mentions of a Steam version being scrapped. This marks yet another PC title to avoid releasing on Steam and in favor of the Epic Store.
It has been merely days since the creator of Fortnite announced and launched their own digital distribution platform with the Epic Store on PC, but seemingly every day since we get news of more games not only becoming available there but outright be PC exclusive on the new store.
This is one important pillar of Epic’s tactic to establish their own digital store alongside offering publishers and developers a higher profit cut than is usual on Steam. Instead of giving 30% of a game’s revenue to the store owner, Epic only demands 12%. Almost two-thirds less. Indeed, Steam recently changed their own revenue cuts but these mostly favor games with bigger sales figures and still are higher than Epic’s 12%.
Compared to other Epic Store exclusives, World War Z looks to be a full exclusive as well. This mean, there won’t be a Steam version coming in the future at all.
