Cobalt release date announced for Xbox and Steam

Mojang and Ojere's much-anticipated action-platformer Cobalt finally has a release date for both Xbox and Steam. The company announced today that in just two weeks, we will be able to get our hands on Cobalt when it launches February 2nd. It is available on both Xbox One and 360 as well as Windows 10 PC.

Cobalt is a new take on a platforming with a massive campaign. Combining an adventure title into a platformer, the single player portion of the game will last about eight hours and include a number of extras. Combat and speed challenges along with a survival mode, local and online multiplayer and fast paced action, Cobalt has a lot of Xbox users excited for something new from Mojang.

Up until now, they've been restricted to Minecraft and, as popular as that is, Cobalt injects a fresh twist of gameplay. Players will need to use both quick thinking and strategy as Cobalt incorporates elements of both a puzzle game and platformer.

Cobalt will cost $19.99 and launch Feb 2nd on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows 10 PC.
