Code Name: S.T.E.A.M. gets 4th of July-themed tournament

How did you fare with Global Cup 2? Did the abundance of Tin Man-focused strategies exploit your team's weaknesses? Well, if you missed out on placing in the Top 4, you have another chance at even better prizes (fictional ones, of course).

In what is surely Nintendo's way of celebrating the 4th of July, Code Name: S.T.E.A.M.'s online community now has a new official tournament to partake in, with "Independence" as its name. Like the last event, it too has Medal Battle for the mode of choice, so any tricks you may have picked up in Global Cup 2 can be replicated here. The first-place winner will be awarded the title of "Old Glory," which beats out "Gold Medal" in cool factor for your S.T.E.A.M. resume.

You have from now until July 6 to climb the leaderboard to your victory. Get to it!
