Cognition continues its murder mystery on iPad

Phoenix Online Studios has adapted its adventure game series Cognition: An Erica Reed Thriller for iOS, showing the importance of mobile in today's market.

Many more adventure games are landing on mobile devices these days in addition to their traditional PC or Mac platform. We've been enjoying the Cognition episodes here at GameZone, and The Wise Monkey was the second and latest to release. That means the App Store is currently one chapter behind in the story.

Cognition follows FBI agent Erica Reed as she investigates a series of seemingly related murders that started with her brother's death years ago.

The developer is also offering a demo or Lite version of the game that prospective players can try for free. The full first episode, dubbed The Hangman, costs $3.99 for iPad — a limited-time deal before the price rises to its regular $4.99.

Phoenix Online is planning a total of four installments. Veteran designer Jane Jensen (Gabriel Knight) served as story consultant on the game.
