Prey for the Gods has been hanging around certain hype circles on the internet for some time. No Matter Studios, the game's three-man development team released Prey for the Gods' reveal trailer in October of 2015 and the reaction was instant excitement. It was a game that they had been developing in their spare time while they worked full time in the industry, but after seeing the massive reaction that the trailer got, the trio decided to quit their jobs and go all in on Prey for the Gods.
The game launched its Kickstarter campaign about a month ago, and they have blown past their target goal of $300,000 with a total (as of this writing) of $416,904 (and climbing). As a result, the team announced that they will be bringing the game to both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One after previously only guaranteeing a Steam version.
Prey for the Gods takes elements of Shadow of the Colossus, Deus Ex, DayZ, and Bloodborne and combines them in a way that makes the game more non-linear. Players can choose the God they wish to topple first and find their way through the islands' many nooks and crannies by using their own snow tracks in case they get lost.
Prey for the Gods is targeting a December 2017 release date, although it could very well come after that. This is a three-man team making an awfully ambitious game, so it's gonna take time.
