Team Colorblind is bringing Aztez, its hybrid combat-strategy game, to PC and "as many consoles as we can" — including PlayStation 4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and Wii U.
Aztez is a mix between a beat-em-up and a empire-management strategy game, according to Ben Ruiz, one of the game's designers, in a post on the PlayStation Blog.
"We decided early on that we didn’t want to make another beat-em-up that forces you through a linear narrative and rote platforming segments, so we’ve created what we feel is an infinitely more interesting vehicle for thrilling combat; a randomized, historical Risk-like," wrote Ruiz.
Aztez will come first to Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux, with consoles following close behind. "If we could, we'd love to launch on everything at once, but really there are just the two of us and launching on a console is a ton of work," wrote programmer Matthew Wegner. "We'll have more timeframe details as we get closer to release!"
"You can watch five different people play a game like this and see five different play styles,” Ruiz told GameZone last year in March. “Traditional beat-em-ups were very shallow, and there was really one or two ways to play them.”
