Community’s “#SixSeasonsAndAMovie” wish gets its sixth season

Fan favorite TV series "Community" is getting its sixth season. It won't be on NBC, though. Yahoo picked the series up and will air a new season.

That's right, Yahoo. The website you once remember as a search engine.

The sixth season of "Community" will feature 13 episodes and debut this fall. Series creator Dan Harmon and producer Chris McKenna will work on the new season. In addition, the regular cast will return, minus Donald Glover, who is working on AMC's "Better Call Saul."

Harmon said the following regarding the show's sixth season:

I am very pleased that 'Community' will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competiion. Rest easy, 'Big Bang Theory.' Look out, 'Bang Bus!'

Here's what Joel McHale had to say:

#SixSeasonsAndAMovie is real. Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. THank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It's the internet. We can swear now.

All that's left now is that movie to air after the sixth season. Then again, "Arrested Development" fans are still waiting for their movie, but at least they have the Netflix revival to fall back on.
