In a promotion video with some subliminal messaging, the cast of Community took to Yahoo Screen to announce the premiere date of Season 6, which is March 17, 2015.
Two episodes will air on Yahoo on the premiere date, and then one episode will air every following Tuesday until the season ends. The move to Yahoo Screen happened when they picked it up after NBC canceled the show (which has a very passionate community). There was so much drama throughout the series, that has seen creator Dan Harmon be removed and return, and multiple actors exiting.
The cast of Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Danny Pudi, Ken Jeong, Gillian Jacobs and Jim Rash will be joined by new cast member Paget Brewster (Criminal Minds). While Harmon hopes that Donald Glover returns, Chevy Chase is no longer on the show (his character died), and Yvette Nicole Brown (who announced her departure) will be written out of the series in the first episode.
As for the whole #SixSeasonsAndAMovie hashtag used by fans to keep the series going, Harmon said, "I'm definitely not writing it as if it was the end. In my mind, I have to continue to write the show as if it's going to last for 20 seasons."
Season 6 of Community can be seen on Yahoo Screen March 17, 2015.
Just remember, the cast doesn't need you to watch Community. You get to watch it. It's a privilege.
