Company of Heroes 2 release moves to June

Sega is delaying the release of Company of Heroes 2 from "early 2013" to June 25.

The company acquired developer Relic Entertainment for $26.6 million in former publisher THQ's asset auction. The wait will give the team more time to polish the real-time strategy game, according to a Facebook update today.

“We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date as we know they are eager to play, but we feel that the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel they deserve,” said Company of Heroes 2 producer Greg Wilson. “However, the wait won’t be long as players will soon be able to help us test and balance multiplayer in the upcoming closed beta. Details will follow shortly.”

The first Company of Heroes released on PC in 2006. The follow-up will come to both PC and Mac. It uses Relic's new Essence 3.0 Engine.
