For decades, filmmakers have been attempting to bring their favorite comic-book stories to the silver screen. Some have had great success, some have failed miserably, some never even got out of the concept stage. One of those movies is the canceled Justice League Dark, a group of DC characters that are a bit more fantastical than Batman, Superman, Aquaman, or Wonder Woman.
The roster for this ensembles varies depending on which incarnation you look at but the one that Joseph Kahn pitched to Warner Bros featured Swamp Thing, Zatanna, Constantine, and more, he even had some actors in mind when pitching the film to the Hollywood giant. The film was at one point being helmed by horror icon and one of Hideo Kojima’s best friends Guillermo del Toro but it was ultimately scrapped. The film is still being kicked around at WB and DC without del Toro and is going to be set in the current DC film canon but there’s not much news regarding what it’ll be about or who will be in it.
