The Iron Banner is well underway in Destiny, and for the next week Guardians will be battling in the Crucible in hopes of achieving Rank 5 with Lord Saladin and the Iron Banner. But for what?
In the past, Iron Banner's rewards have been crap; but with the latest patch, we've been promised improved rewards, particularly increased drop rates for Legendary Gear as well as additional rewards at Rank 3 and Rank 5. Bungie also added an Iron Banner Ghost Shell that can drop in the playlist at Rank 5.
While many of the rewards for the Iron Banner are a mystery, Guardians on the Destiny subreddit have put together a list of confirmed Iron Banner rank 5 reward package drops. Here's what they've got so far:
- Iron Shell Ghost Shell (320 confirmed)
- Iron Companion Helm Titan Helmet (313 confirmed)
- Iron Companion Hood Warlock Helmet (320 confirmed)
- Iron Companion Legs Warlock Leg Armor (317 confirmed)
- Wolfswood Bond Warlock Bond (320 confirmed)
- Haakon's Hatchet Auto Rifle (313 confirmed)
- Nirwen's Mercy Pulse Rifle
- Colovance's Duty Scout Rifle(313confirmed)
- Ashraven's Flight Fusion Rifle
- Deidris's Retort Shotgun
- Weyloran's March Sniper Rifle (313 confirmed)
- Ironwreath-D Sidearm (318 confirmed)
- Tormod's Bellows Rocket Launcher (318 confirmed)
According to the list, it seems that all of the drops range from 310-320 light, which provides a good option for players who aren't able to run King's Fall on Hard Mode or those who don't enjoy Trials of Osiris. Of course, obtaining Iron Banner Rank 5 is no easy feat, requiring you to play (and win) numerous matches while completing daily and weekly bounties. At least the rewards finally seem worth it.
The Iron Banner playlist will remain until Tuesday, November 24th, so it's not too late to start grinding rep. As a reminder, Tempering provides an automatic buff that rewards you with increased reputation throughout the week. The later in the week, the higher the boost.
