Console-style games are coming to Apple TV after all, courtesy of the SteelSeries Nimbus

When Apple unveiled that games will work on the new Apple TV, they did so by only showing simple titles that would work with the base remote that comes with the device. That led many to believe that it wouldn't have much more complicated games available on the device. Today, Steelseries put that to rest with the announcement of the new controller for iOS devices, including Apple TV, called Nimbus.

The Nimbus looks like a hybrid of the PS4 and Xbox One controller, with the dual analog stick position mirroring Sony's controller, while the face buttons mirroring Microsoft's.

While it's unclear what games will eventually work on Apple TV, whether it will be any controller enabled game, but the controller's landing page does show a few game icons, such as GTA San Andreas, LEGO Star Wars and Call of Duty Strike Team. However, since the controller will work across any iOS device, we can't say for certain that those games will indeed by playable on Apple TV.

The controller will be available in late October, and purchasable on apple.com as well as Apple retail stores and will cost $49.99. Apple TV will be available around the same time and will retail for $150.
