Eighteen years since its original launch, the original Constructor is coming to current generation consoles. Announced for PS4, Xbox One as well as PC, developer System 3 has announced that the reimagined version of the game will launch in 2016. If you're unfamiliar with Constructor, it's a simulation title that puts you in control of building your own thriving city. If this sounds a lot like the Sims then you are on the right track. One difference, however, is that Constructor allows you to invade and attack other players' cities using various different tactics.
Whether it is sabotaging the gas and sewer lines of an apartment complex or having a transient squat in an upscale mansion, there are various different techniques you can use to get the upper hand on your opponent. Of course, they are able to attack your city as well so strategic planning is key as you balance both reinforcing your infrastructure while attempting to tear down your opponents'. “Constructor is a game I took great joy in creating, and having the chance to delve into its universe once again has been incredible,” said development head John Twiddy. “A whole generation adored the original. I, along with the original collaborators, am delighted to be showcasing Constructor’s unique charm to a whole new audience.”
There will be specific retailer bonuses for those who pre-order and they will receive further details at a later time. The current release date is listed as January 29th, 2016.
