Since the reveal of The Sims 4, EA has promised it will take creativity to the next level. At Gamescom, they briefly showed off tools that basically allow you to hand-mold your sim, essentially reaching into the game and sculpting your sim's entire body and facial features — almost as if you were working with clay.
Today, just a few weeks ahead of E3, EA released an official gameplay trailer showing off Sim creation in The Sims 4. It gives us a more in-depth look at the creation process as The Sims 4 producer Ryan Vaughan walks us through the creation of two of our all-time favorite sims: Bella and Mortimer Goth.
"We've completely reinvented our technology so that Create a Sim is tactile, more intuitive, and much more powerful," Vaughan says.
Creating a sim goes much further than their body though. In The Sims 4, you'll also be able to assign them a walk and voice, as well as personality traits that will ultimately influence how they behave and react to the world. Today's video demonstrates all of this and more. Though you spent a lot of time creating your sim in The Sims 3? Just wait…
More of The Sims 4 will be shown at E3 next month, likely during EA's press briefing on Monday, June 9. Hopefully we'll be able to get some hands-on time with the game as well.
