Creators of Rez and Child of Eden develop iOS game

Industry veterans behind Lumines, Rez, Lost Odyssey, and Child of Eden have formed a new studio called Monstar, Inc., and released their first game for iOS.

Kotomon allows players to catch amicable monsters and launch them at enemies. These creatures behave according to type, so some bounce around like a pinball while others breathe fire or detonate when hit. Each action contributes different beats to the game's soundtrack.

The creative team includes founder Osamu Kodera (Rez, Child of Eden) as planner and programmer, Sawako Yamamoto (Child of Eden) as producer, and Eiichiro Ishige (Child of Eden, Lost Odyssey) as director.

The game costs $2.99 in the App Store.
