Crysis Remastered out next month on PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Epic strikes again

Crysis Remastered finally got its release date for the PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Come September 18th the long-awaited remaster of the iconic PC shooter will be available on every remaining platform. To celebrate the momentous announcement, we also got a short little trailer that goes over the technical features. Check it out!

Nintendo Switch owners already were fortunate enough to play Crysis Remastered since last month, and soon every other platform is getting their port. The tale of the remaster was somewhat marred early-on with fans not being satisfied with the scope. It’s a bit unfair since Crytek never claimed to create a remake from the ground up.

But when you are the poster child for visual fidelity and become a meme even for the past decade, it gets difficult to lose preconceived notions. Alas, the remaster is a great opportunity for a new audience to experience a hallmark PC shooter probably for the first time.

Crysis Remastered is based on the last-gen ports for the PS3 & Xbox 360 and hence lacks the VTOL level that puts the player inside a futuristic hovercraft. But since that segment was already standing apart from the bulk of the game, its omission shouldn’t be that big of a pill to swallow.

What will probably not gel so well with the PC crows, in particular, is that Crysis Remastered is yet another timed-exclusive on the Epic Games Store. It’s the second major news of Epic continuing to establish their digital store with exclusivity deals after yesterday’s Hitman 3 news.
