Crytek Cuts Jobs, Again; 15 Jobs at HQ

Last month we learned that  Crytek closed five studios after claims of financial troubles. Today, the remaining HQ announced that it was laying off 15 employees in Frankfurt, Germany where they are located.

These new layoffs affect the team behind the free-to-play shooter Warface. They've recently talked about publishing duties moving from North America and Europe to the Russian company My.com

This new isn't completely negative, however, as Crytek says most of the employees have been moved to other projects inside the company, although the exact details have not been revealed.

Crytek Cofounder and managing director Avni Yerli states:

"Crytek has always sought to push the boundaries of gaming, and that remains our primary goal as we scale down the business to re-focus on game and technology development first and foremost. Unfortunately, one of the inevitable effects of this process has been the redundancies we are announcing today."

"We are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication of each and every person at Crytek, and the team members we now have to say goodbye to will receive comprehensive support that reflect that gratitude. We will also be on hand to offer whatever support we can as they seek to find new positions elsewhere that reflect their considerable talents."

What does this mean for Crytek? Is this just the after quakes of the massive change of formation from last month, or does it spell more doom for the company? As fans of their gaming engine, we can only hope this is the last of the bad news.
