Cult classic Deadly Premonition has arrived on Xbox One via backwards compatibility

A nice addition to the lineup.

Deadly Premonition is not a game that thrived on critical acclaim when it first released as an Xbox 360 exclusive in North America back in 2010. But thanks to a small but loyal following that praised the game for its quirky story despite budget level production values, the game eventually made its way over to PS3 and PC courtesy of the Director's Cut. Earlier today, Xbox's Larry Hryb announced that the game is now playable on Xbox One via Backwards Compatibility.

Deadly Premonition makes no bones about the fact that it's clearly inspired by Twin Peaks, and features a protagonist with a split personality. Somewhat ironically, the game's play between horror and comedy is so much a reflection of the protagonist, making it easily one of the most unique experiences there is.

If you already own the game, like every other Xbox 360 backwards compatible game, you can just pop in the disc and go. If you don't own Deadly Premonition, you can still pick it up on Xbox Live for $19.99.
