Cult PlayStation indie darling Flower out now on PC for a bargain

Breath of the Wind

Former PlayStation exclusive Flower, the artistic and soothing experience following the breezy tale of flower petals in the wind, is out now on PC. You can Flower on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store for a stupidly low price of just $5.69. Check out the PC launch trailer!

Way back in 2009, when indie games weren’t really a known thing, Thatgamecompany unleashed a figurative fresh breath of air onto the gaming landscape with Flower. The peaceful and serene vibe positively surprised many PlayStation 3 gamer who simply weren’t used to experimental non-traditional games as much as audiences are today.

Thatgamecompany continued their success as a third-party PlayStation exclusive creator with the legendary Journey. A seminal milestone not only for the developer but for indie gaming in general. Naturally, once the PlayStation 4 came out in late 2013, the devs ported their PS3 games on Sony’S new console, enabling a new generation of gamers to experience their cult indie games.

Starting today however, an entirely new gaming audience – and arguably larger one – will be able to get their hands on the little studio’s games. Flower is the first game from Thatgamecompany which is as of right now available on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store. Best of all, it can be had for the very low price of $5.69.

This just a start. We previously reported how Annapurna Interactive, the publisher of Thatgamecompany’s games, plans to bring the small catalog of games by the studio to the PC. Indeed, Journey, the other more prominent game already has a storepage on the Epic Games Store, which led many to believe it would be exclusively available on that store. But with Flower now launching across all major digital stores, chances are there Journey will also release similarly. Stay tuned for more.
