Someone has taken Cuphead and packaged it for iOS in an attempt to scam people out of $5. On top of that, a fake website teasing the iOS version of the game appeared! The scam version of the game does work on iOS, so the scam is actually a pretty good one – but a scam none the less.
Cuphead’s developer, StudioMHR, has confirmed that the app is indeed a scam.

In addition to that, Cuphead’s official site is http://cupheadgame.com/ and the official developer site is http://studiomdhr.com/, but today http://studiomdhrgames.com/ appeared, teasing an iOS release for Cuphead. Unfortunately, the latter is a scam site.
The website ‘http://studiomdhrgames.com/’ is not real and the individual that the domain is registered to appears to be associated with a number of scam sites that are based on real games.
If their scam porting efforts have never been spotted by Apple, then there is a fair chance that this person has made a pretty penny on scams.
Last week, Fez hit iOS devices as a $5 ‘Pocket Edition’Â – but that’s the real version.
