Cuphead has officially sold 1 million copies

Cuphead is just two weeks old, but already it has gone Platinum according to developer Studio MDHR. According to a new blog post on the company's website, Cuphead has already sold one million copies three years after being unveiled to the world at E3 2014. The game was eventually delayed and remained in the dark for most of 2016 before resurfacing this past E3 with a firm release time frame.

The company also sent out a Tweet of thanks.

The sacrifices that Chad and Jared Moldenhauer made for this game have been well documented, with both having to quit their day jobs and remortgage their homes to expand the studio so that the game could hit their dream scope. It was a significant risk but appears to one that has literally paid off.

Cuphead has released to near-universal critical acclaim and currently has an "Overwhelmingly Positive" user rating on Steam. Cuphead is available now on Xbox One and PC.
