Custom PS4 ‘GayStation’ sells for $4,105, proceeds donated to LGBT

This rainbow-clad PlayStation 4, which was created as part of Sweden’s pride week, has been auctioned off for 28,300kr, or approximately $4,105.

The Tradera auction began in support of The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights (RSFL), and followed a social media campaign dubbed “thisisforthegaymers.” Topping 183 total bids, user “Pumpkaboo” won out.

As Destructoid reports, 100% of the proceeds from the auction were donated to RSFL, but Pumpkaboo took home the system itself. Similarly, it is believed 100% of future uses of the phrase "gaystation" will be contrastingly derogatory.
