CW breaks up with Hulu for Netflix

The CW and Hulu have been exclusive for a while now, but Netflix showed up and threw a wrench into that set up. The CW and Hulu are calling it quits after around five years — all because the CW is moving on to Netflix.

This change up will be hit CW-show loving Hulu users in a major way, seeing has CW and Hulu did not come to any terms for after their agreement is up in October. That means that once October comes, Hulu users will not be able to use their streaming program of choice to get their show needs filled.

For Netflix subscribers, this is phenomenal news. Instead of waiting weeks for CW seasons to hit streaming platforms, the waiting period will only be eight days.

"Netflix members in the U.S. love the great lineup of series from The CW, and we are thrilled to extend the relationship and bring those shows to our members exclusively now, just eight days after their season finales," said Netflix content boss Ted Sarandos in a statement.

The CW-Netflix deal will begin with the 2016 – 2017 season.
