Today Cyan, the creator of Myst and Riven, announced that its crowdfunding campaign for Obduction has passed $1.1 million on Kickstarter, meeting its target goal.
Obduction is an "immersive" adventure game for modern audiences that stays true to the developer's previous games and what made them popular. It's due for PC and Mac in mid-to-late 2015.
The campaign has 62 hours to go and nearly 19,000 backers. The total amount raised is climbing up from $1,128,687.
The first stretch goal — for Oculus Rift support and localization — is set at $1.3 million, followed by an additional world and Roadtrip mode at $1.7 million. Roadtrip enables two players to explore the game's world together via Internet as "driver" and "passenger," with the ability to switch roles (basically, who's moving and interacting and who's just looking and offering assistance) on command.
