Cyberpunk 2077 launch trailer confirms free DLC starting early 2021

Cyberpunk 2077 launches tomorrow at long last. To celebrate, CD Projekt shared an awesome launch trailer. Enjoy it and get ready to embark on a grand journey below!

It’s still a couple of days until Santa drops his gifts but gamers celebrate early this year as CD Projekt’s highly-anticipated new game drops tomorrow. We’re talking about Cyberpunk 2077 of course.

In a year with plenty of big game releases, CP2077 still reigns supreme. The sheer ludicrous excitement is unlike any other game in recent memory. But that’s what happens when one of the most beloved developers promises one of the best games of the generation.

It sure helps that their last game, The Witcher 3, is a bona fide classic. But Cyberpunk 2077 has a lot more going for it than just name recognition. We’ve already seen so much gameplay and learned so much about Night City and its inhabitants. It almost feels like we’ve seen everything there is to see.

Early reviews are fairly positive, with the game sitting at a very comfortable 91% on Metacritic. And that’s without the launch day patch that is supposed to iron out tons of bugs. A very solid starting point, no doubt.

Hidden Message in the launch trailer

But the launch is just the start for Cyberpunk 2077. The rather calm and almost emotional launch trailer has an interesting hidden message. CD Projekt will deliver new content for the open-world action-RPG as soon as early 2021.

Anyone who played The Witcher 3 already knows that CD Projekt does a great job at giving great free DLCs. It looks like Cyberpunk 2077 will be no expectation of that nice rule.

To be clear, proper expansions will happen, too. But there is no timeframe for those just yet. Free DLC on the other hand will be added to the game early next year already. So, in case you power through the deep world of Cyberpunk 2077, there’s already more to look forward to.
