CD Projekt RED shared the first-ever console footage of Cyberpunk 2077. As part of a marketing partnership with Microsoft, we get a lengthy 10 minutes of Xbox gameplay footage. Make sure to check it out below!
After seven long years and an entire console generation later, we’re in the home stretch for Cyberpunk 2077. While that is a long time, it feels even longer because of numerous delays. But this is it. In three weeks, CD Projekt Red’s next magnum opus will at long last release.
The most recent delay hurt especially, but the developer thankfully has its fans covered with brand-new footage. Not one, but two Night City Wire development videos come out this week. Tomorrow, the fifth and likely last episode will focus on the charismatic Johnny Silverhand who is played by Keanu Reeves.
Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis
obsessed with power, glamour and body modification.
But today, it’s the consoles’ turn. Namely, the Xbox. A special episode of the Night City Wire shows Xbox One X and Xbox Series X gameplay for the first time. And what we see is mighty impressive.
The video is only available in 30fps and 1080p sadly, but we already knew that current-gen systems won’t run at 60fps. Furthermore, the game will run on the Xbox Series X|S & PlayStation 5 only via backward compatibility. Next-gen users will have to wait until next year until the proper next-gen upgrade drops.
Still, the visuals are really on a whole other level compared to other open-world titles. Neon-drenched alleys, loads of NPCs populating the city, and meticulous attention to detail stand out. And it already makes Cyberpunk 2077 one of the most beautiful current-gen games.
Cyberpunk 2077 will finally launch on December 10th for PC, Google Stadia, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
