Cyberpunk 2077 shows 3 wildly different starting points to choose from

CD Projekt Red has concluded the second Night City Wire and as expected it is a treasure trove of exciting new footage and details about Cyberpunk 2077. The highlight of the event is the showcase of the game’s distinct three character backstories. Learn more about it in the awesome new trailer here!

The extremely talented folks over at CD Projekt Red are truly going above and beyond with Cyberpunk 2077. Everything we have seen so far already is mighty impressive and promises to be one of the best games of the generation.

Now, we learn that there is an entirely separate layer to the RPG portion in the form of Lifepaths. These are starting points the player can choose and will have a meaningful effect on the playthrough that goes well beyond flavor text hidden in the menu.

Whether you start out as a Nomad who grew up in the desert Badlands, tough up as a Street Kid in the unforgiving lower class world of Night City, or even choose to be a high-society Corpo person, there’s a fitting choice for your fantasy.

The Night City Wire evened out the RPG portion with a hefty dose of action by giving a glimpse over the varied arsenal of weaponry at the player’s fingertips. The selection at hand is not only staggering in numbers but actual variety.

You got standard kinetic guns but also futuristic smart weapons whose ammo homes into their target mid-air. If you’re more into close-quarters combat, sick melee weapons like the thermal katana are ready to slice and dice any unfortunate soul in your path.

The most exciting weapon type however is Cyberware. Sickle-like scythes that flip out your forearms dismember enemies in a matter of seconds. Projectile launcher integrated into your arms blast explosives directly at your targets. You can even upgrade to Gorilla Arms that packs a serious punch in your bare hands.

We can’t wait to finally play Cyberpunk 2077 when it launched November 19th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. PS5 and Xbox Series X ports will be coming shortly after and will be offered to owners of current-gen versions as a free upgrade.
