Cyberpunk 2077 to use entirely upgraded Witcher 3 dev tools

Back in October of 2012, before The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt made its official appearance CD Projekt Red revealed the title of their upcoming game, Cyberpunk 2077. Regardless of which game was announced first, CD Projekt Red released The Witcher 3 before the began putting too much work towards Cyberpunk 2077.

Currently, Cyberpunk 2077 is very early in development, the studio is still looking to hire key developers to get the game moving like a lead writer, lead level designer, lead quest designer, lead multiplayer designer and more (via NeoGaf).

It appears as though CD Projekt Red is finally working towards moving forward with the game's development, using The Witcher 3 as a platform of knowledge.

“To be honest, the politically correct answer is yes, it is sad [to finish Geralt’s story]. But the truth is that everyone is so insanely pumped about working on the next project, Cyberpunk 2077 ,” said CDPR visual effects artist Jose Teixeira to iDigital Times in an interview. “We’ve could’ve made a million expansions for The Witcher because there’s so many stories in that world, but everyone is crazy excited about Cyberpunk 2077.”

“The most important thing that’s happening at the moment is that the programmers are taking the feedback we gave them from working on The Witcher. As cliche as it sounds it was a big learning experience. The programmers are updating our software quite drastically.”

The developers have not been quiet on the game's existence since its reveal, they have even gone as far as teasing that the next time we heard about Cyberpunk 2077 it would have to be "f**king great." To see Cyberpunk 2077 revealed so early and sitting in pre-production is not unlikely for the studio. The Witcher 3 was in pre-production while Witcher 2 was being developed.

Cyberpunk 2077 is expected to release within the next four years.
