Cyberpunk 2077 will be ‘far’ bigger than The Witcher 3

Astonishing plans to make Cyberpunk 2077 far bigger than The Witcher 3 were announced today, with CD Projekt Red promising to deliver their largest game to date.

The size of Cyberpunk 2077 was always a massive question that the Polish game developers just weren't ready to answer back in 2012, however now is seems that the game will be much larger than many gamers could have imagined.

Jose Teixeira, CD Projekt Red visual effects artist, has been speaking to MCV UK about the upcoming title.

He said: "Cyberpunk is far bigger than anything else that CD Projekt Red has done before. We're really stepping into the unknown in terms of complexity and size and problems we encounter.”

"The Witcher helped Cyberpunk quite a bit, because the game got so big and so complex that it really taught us. We really didn't know what was going to happen."

The Witcher 3 was a huge game in its own right, leaving gamers completely shocked by the huge amount of things to explore, and Teixeira believes that the company's work on that title will stand them in good stead while producing their next ambitious RPG.

“If anything, working on The Witcher 3 was a really good and often brutal learning experience. Cyberpunk is going to benefit greatly from it. I can almost guarantee it.

"I have a lot of things that I want to change and do better the next time around, and I can guarantee that almost everyone in that studio has something that they go 'I did this this time, next time I can do it differently, I can do it better'.”

The game is still yet to be given a definite release date and we understand that the CD Projekt Red worker kept things under wraps during this interview, refusing to comment or speculate on specifics.
