Cyberpunk comes out 2019 says Turkish publisher

It's happening, isn't it?!

It looks like Cyberpunk 2077, the highly anticipated  sci-fi action-RPG by the creators behind The Witcher games, is poised to arrive much sooner than anyone really anticipated. According to a Tweet by Bilkom, the Turkish publisher of Cyberpunk 2077, the game will come out as soon as next year.

Bilkom has deleted their Tweet shortly after posting it, but here’s a screencap of it via VG247 Turkey. No doubt, Bilkom was quickly contacted by CD Projekt Red to take down the Tweet. After all, the developer has very openly dismissed any expectations by the gaming press and audience with regards to a soon game release.

Actually, what we have so far heard from the Polish game creators painted a rather early development phase, leaving eager fans impatient. That’s understandable to some extent, as Cyberpunk 2077 was unveiled way back in 2012. That’s a life-time ago in the gaming industry, and to add salt on the wound, all these years all fans had, was an admittedly cool teaser trailer.

Game development is getting more and more complicated, with bigger staff, costs and development time. Especially for AAA blockbuster games. As such, Cyberpunk 2077 looked like an ambitious project, even after having another massive RPG under their belt with The Witcher 3.

Thankfully, things started to look up for Cyberpunk 2077 when CD Projekt Red, to the surprise of everyone, released the first in-game trailer this E3 and an insanely long and detailed gameplay demo in late August. In a rare case, what was shown not only met but exceeded the already sky-high expectations of fans.

The level of polish and scale present in the gameplay demo lit up flames of hope that Cyberpunk 2077 had caught up with its development, and a sooner-than-thought release was in the cards. Today’s accidental Tweet could be confirmation for those hopes.

CD Projekt Red hasn’t addressed the supposed release date, but we’ll keep you updated with any news around Cyberpunk 2077.
