Cyclops joins Marvel Puzzle Quest

Joe Fletcher of D3Publisher announced today on Marvel.com that Cyclops is joining the mobile/PC match-3 game Marvel Puzzle Quest. He is one of the most wanted characters by Marvel Puzzle Quest fans, and there's some good story potential with him, so the time is right for the leader of the X-Men to join the game — albeit in his Earth-616 version.

Cyclops is a 3-star Red/Yellow/Black hero with abilities that show off the brute force side of him. Here are his three powers:

  • Optic Blasts (Red) – Scott blows up a random row of tiles in a display of raw power while dealing direct damage to the targeted opponent. As the ability levels, it deals more and more damage. At max level, it is capable of taking a large chunk of health out of a lower hit point character like the hood.
  • Mutant Revolutionary (Yellow) – Scott takes Team Up tiles on the board and converts them to Red tiles.
  • Full Blast (Black) –  With a 13 AP charged Full Blast, Scott deals a huge amount of damage to the opponent in one shot. At max level, it is enough to down support characters in one blow. If there are enough Red tiles on the board, Scott pulls off his visor, dealing even more damage but with the downside of stunning himself for a couple of turns.

Some good characters to team him up with are ones that take advantage of the Red AP, like Wolverine. His colors also match well with Mystique.

Cyclops will be available as a reward from the Iso-8 Brotherhood run, starting today, February 12. It runs five days, so you'll earn him as a reward on February 17.
