Original Ghosbuster Dan Aykroyd will have a cameo in the upcoming reboot, according to a now removed tweet from the actor.
On July 14th, Aykroyd tweeted (via EW) that he was on the set of the new Ghostbusters reboot shooting a scene "with funny beautiful Kristen Wiig." Kristen Wiig, of course, is one of the four new female Ghostbusters in Paul Feig's reboot.
Aykroyd didn't get into specifics, but a report from Indie Revolver claims that he will play a cab driver and during his scene with Wiig will drop the famous line "I ain't afraid of no ghosts."
Aykroyd has always been in favor of creating a third Ghostbusters film, so I'm not surprised at all that he'll appear in the film, even if it is just a minor cameo. He's also been tremendously supportive of Feig's new vision with an all female main cast, and in his latest tweet he referred to the "Lady Ghostbusters" (Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones) as "adorable, hilarious and badass."
Can't say I'm happy about the use of the word "adorable." I don't want my Ghostbusters adorable. I want them sloppy, nerdy, overweight, sarcastic and badass.
Last month, he said the film was going to be "massive," describing it as "intelligent" and hitting "the right notes."
Really, I don't know what to expect from this movie so I guess we'll just have to wait to cast judgment.
