Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair will come to PC on April 18.
The date comes to us from the game’s newly updated Steam listing, confirming rumors spawned by the PC release of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. The series’ progenitor came to PC just last February, shortly after the announcement of Danganronpa 3.
Danganronpa’s history is colorful, to say the least. It started as a PSP-exclusive in 2010, was ported to mobile platforms in 2012 and finally came to Vita in 2014. The series has also spawned two animated series and a bizarre third-person spinoff.
Danganronpa 2 retains the series’ iconic investigative visual novel gameplay, but also sees a radical departure from the classroom scene. Set in tropical paradise Jabberwock Island, Goodbye Despair deepens the mysteries surrounding the oft-alluded calamity and the true identity of poster child antagonist Monokuma, all while delivering a satisfyingly cryptic game of cat-and-mouse played by an eclectic batch of characters.
