Danganronpa devs thinking about possible third game

The U.S. and Japan have both caught Danganronpa fever, and developer Spike Chunsoft plans to keep pumping out the games in response.

Earlier this month, U.S. publisher NIS America announced that it's localizing Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair for North America this fall. Like the first visual novel, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc — which released on Feb. 11 to positive reviews (here's ours) — Goodbye Despair will be a PlayStation Vita exclusive.

Now a third game could be happening: "We are absolutely thinking about making a third Danganronpa, but we haven’t decided on anything specific just yet," producer Yoshinori Terasawa told Siliconera.

That possible third game is separate from Danganronpa: Another Episode, the PS Vita title currently in development in Japan that fits between the events of Trigger Happy Havoc and Goodbye Despair. Another Episode stars the sister of Trigger Happy Havoc's protagonist, Makoto Naegi, and has players using a microphone to fire word bullets at Monokuma bears. So far, that game has not been confirmed for North America.
