Netflix's Daredevil has a lot of things going for it, but one of its best traits is the performance of Vincent D’Onofrio in his role of Wilson Fisk (AKA Kingpin). D’Onofrio is arguably the best actor in the show, so it comes as no surprise that he has re-upped for the series' third season. He had recently teased fans about his return over Twitter, changing the page's banner to a behind the back shot of Kingpin, fueling speculation.
Deadline reported the news first as confirmed by Marvel TV boss Jeph Loeb. He said, "Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk.”
In addition, Daredevil will be getting a new showrunner for Season 3 in the form of Erik Oleson, who is known for his work on the CW's Arrow and The Man in the High Castle. Loeb added, "We’re very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our new showrunner, Erik Oleson."
Netflix has several superhero shows in the works apart from Daredevil, namely the second seasons for Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and even Iron Fist. There's currently no word on when any of them will launch, but Daredevil will enter production sometime in 2018. Regardless, more Vincent D’Onofrio is never a bad thing.
