If you plan on purchasing Dark Souls 2 when it releases, it doesn't look like you'll need to pony up a few extra bucks for a Season pass, extra DLC, or any other additional content publishers try to saddle on top. Developer From Software has revealed they have no plans for any additional content.
"For Dark Souls 2, we don’t even expect any additional downloadable content because we want to deliver a full game, the full experience, to fans who purchase the package from day one," producer Takeshi Miyazoe told EDGE.
Miyazoe acknowledged the additional content that was released for Dark Souls, but he seems pretty adament about giving gamers the "full experience" upon initial release.
"We did do additional content for Dark Souls, but generally downloadable content for Dark Souls 2 is not really being considered," he said. "Buy the package and you’ll get the full experience, and you’ll have as much fun as anybody else. Spending a couple dollars on certain items does not help the experience."
Dark Souls 2 is due out for Xbox 360 and PS3 on March 14, 2014. A PC version will follow shortly after.
