Dark Souls 3 release date confirmed with special editions

Bandai Namco released a new trailer for Dark Souls 3, and in doing so confirmed the release date of the highly anticipated action-RPG.

Confirming the leaked date, Dark Souls 3 will officially release throughout North America on April 12, 2016 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

In addition to the release date, Bandai Namco also confirmed two previously leaked special editions of the game, both exclusive to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.

The Dark Souls 3 Day One Edition, priced at $59.99, includes the following:

• Dark Souls 3 game
• Prima Starter Guide
• Official Dark Souls 3 Soundtrack
• Exclusive O-Sleeve packaging

For $129.99 there's also the Dark Souls 3 Collector's Edition, which includes:

• Dark Souls 3 game
• Prima Starter Guide
• Official Dark Souls 3 Soundtrack
• Official Art Book
• Cloth Game Map
• 10" Red Knight Statue
• Collector's Box

As someone who just started playing Bloodborne without ever touching a Souls game, my excitement for Dark Souls 3 is rising every day.
