Dark Souls 3 will find the weapon durability balance that Dark Souls 2 didn’t have

When Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin released players were met with a frustrating feature – something that most players call a bug – the weapon durability in the game. Our resident Dark Souls expert, who has moved closer to the source (Japan) felt the wrath of the game's durability in the most annoying way, back when he reviewed Scholar of the First Sin.

"I had to buy multiples of the weapon I like to use, only to be able to get through one long segment in the game, since the durability seems to chip away extremely fast."

From Software tweaked the durability on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, leaving PC players high and dry, then forgot about it. According to Hidetaka Miyazaki, Dark Souls 3 will find the balance between Dark Souls 2's frustrating durability and the durability in the original Dark Souls.

“I personally think the weapons in Dark Souls 2 break a little too easily. This was implemented intending for the players to try out many types of weapons, but even so, I felt they broke too quickly. However, in Dark Souls 1, they didn’t break enough, and so I’m hoping to find a good balance for Dark Souls 3.”

Hopefully you do Miyazaki, because it was frustrating even watching the lack of durabile weapons in Dark Souls 2.

Dark Souls 3 releases in early 2016 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC.
