Sometimes it pays to pay attention. That's what happened with one Redditor who stumbled upon Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition in the Xbox Game Pass app. Xbox Game Pass has been out for about one month, releasing to all on June 1st, and seven new games were recently announced for the service, but it seems that Darksiders 2 has either released early or by mistake.
Xbox Game Pass is expected to get "at least" five new games per month, to keep its offerings fresh and also gives 20% discounts on games if you decide to keep them plus 10% off on DLC.
It's unclear if Microsoft will remove the game from the service, so the smart thing to do, if you are a subscriber would be to download the game now just in case. It seems likely that in the event the game did release early, that it will eventually come to the service anyway, perhaps even as early as August.
Darksiders II is the follow-up one of the last console generation's most underrated games. The Deathinitive Edition currently sits at an average Metascore of 75, and a third game in the series is due out sometime next year.
