Following THQ's closure in 2013 their assets were auctioned off, one by one. Ubisoft took South Park: The Stick of Truth, Take-Two grabbed Evolve, and Nordic Games acquired Darksiders. In spite of months of silence, the creative developer of Darksiders revealed that the series "is not dead" — that statement came in 2014.
Nearly a year after that statement was made, Darksiders 2: Definitive Edition for the PlayStation 4 has been spotted on Amazon under the Nordic Games retail account. The game does not have a formal release date, but instead a placeholder release date of December 31, 2015. When questioned on the authenticity of this listing, a representative from Nordic told GameSpot that “the authenticity of the listing is unquestionable.”
Nordic Games is not ready to discuss the details of the project. The only details we have are from Amazon — that the game exists. This isn't the only game that has been listed on Amazon by Nordic Games either. Legend of Kay HD (for Wii U/PS4), ArcaniA – The Complete Tale (PS4), MX vs ATV: Supercross Encore Edition (PS4) and The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 (PS4/Xbox One) are all listed. When these game's will release is not known, as Nordic Games has not commented on the matter.
