Darksiders 2 vanishing from Wii U eShop after March 31

For reasons unknown, Vigil Games' action-adventure title Darksiders 2 is disappearing from the European Wii U eShop after March 31.

No company stepped up to purchase the intellectual property when former publisher THQ went under in late 2012, selling its assets early this year. Rumors circulated recently that Crytek, which is opening an Austin-based studio, wanted to purchase the IP, but the company has clearly denied interest.

Now a message has appeared in the European Wii U eShop that Darksiders 2 will become unavailable after March 31, possibly due to due to licensing or legal issues. Nintendo hasn't provided any details.

The North American eShop currently remains free of such a message.
