THQ Nordic has unveiled the release dates for Darksiders Genesis. The hack-and-slash spin-off from the long-running action-adventure series is headed for PC and Google Stadia this December 5th. Console gamers will have to wait two months until Genesis lands on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. Check out the new cinematic trailer!
The Darksiders series has established itself as a great action-adventure franchise during last-gen and experienced a deserved revival with last year’s Darksiders III. But publisher THQ Nordic has bigger plans for the franchise and gave Austin-based developer Airship Syndicate the task to create a top-down hack-and-slash spin-off.
Darksiders Genesis is the title that takes the series into a new genre but continues with the tradition of offering one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse as the protagonist. With this fourth installment, the final Horseman Strife will be the hero. But unlike the three prior games, Genesis is meant to be played with a friend. So, War, the first game’s hero can either join the adventure in two-player co-op or be selected as the player character in single-player on the fly.
DARKSIDERS: GENESIS is an action/adventure game that tears its way through hordes of demons, angels, and everything in-between on its way to Hell and back with guns blazing and swords swinging. Genesis gives players their first look at the world of DARKSIDERS before the events of the original game, as well as introduces the horseman STRIFE.
PC players and early adopters of Google’s game streaming service Google Stadia will be able to play Darksiders Genesis in early December. The launch for consoles will take a couple of months longer with a February release across all consoles.
