Dawn of War 3 release date announced; Limited and collectors editions detailed

The release date for the highly anticipated real-time strategy game Dawn of War III has finally been announced, and alongside it, details for both pre-order bonuses as well as the limited and collector's editions has been revealed.

The third installment of the Warhammer 40,000 series Dawn of War was announced last year by SEGA and Relic Entertainment and Dawn of War III is set for release almost a year after its initial announcement. Dawn of War III is scheduled for release on April 27 on PC, about eight years after Dawn of War II was released.

First up, the pre-order bonuses. Seems like Relic and SEGA understand what a pre-order bonus should be, especially in a real-time strategy game with a prominent multiplayer side to it, the bonuses are purely cosmetic. These cosmetics will be usable on three Super Walker Elites, one for each officially announced race (they have hinted of at least one more race), and players who don't pre-order will get the same Walkers but without any fancy skins. The pre-order skins are as follows, and can be seen in the video above.

• Dark Queen skin for Lady Solaria (Imperial Knight, Human)
• Ghost Seer skin for Farseer Taldeer (Wraithknight, Eldar)
• Big Kustom skin for Beauty (Morkanaut, Ork)

Dawn of War III will launch with three editions, a Standard, Limited, and a Collectors. The Standard Edition comes with just the game, and if pre-ordered, with the skins above and will at launch go for $59.99 / £54.99 / €59.99.

The Limited Edition is a bit fancier but a bit more expensive and will launch at  $64.99 / £59.99 / €64.99. It will, however, come with some extra goodies, as can be seen above

Then there is the crème de la crème edition or the Collector's Edition as Relic calls it. It is the fanciest of the three and the price point of $129.99 / £99.99 / €119.99 shows it, but it should be something every Warhammer 40.000 fan should be able to look past. It comes with Gabriel Angelos' own hammer! And some other goodies, of course.
